Tony Mancuso
Founder & Head PizzaioloWith 35+ years of dough in his hands, Tony is the heartbeat of Green Lantern Pizza. His grandmother's recipe still guides every batch of sauce made in our kitchen.
Over three decades of handcrafted pizza, family tradition, and a deep love for the craft — this is who we are and why every slice matters.
Green lantern pizza was born in 1987 from a single family kitchen in Madison Heights, Michigan. Founder Tony Mancuso learned his craft from his Italian grandmother — hand-stretching dough before sunrise, layering fresh sauce made from vine-ripened tomatoes, and never rushing the process.
What began as a neighborhood secret quickly became a local institution. Today, the same recipes and the same unwavering commitment to quality continue to define every pizza that leaves our kitchen on John R Road.
We source locally whenever possible and never compromise on ingredient quality.
Our pizzas are baked in original stone ovens for that perfect crisp and char.
We treat every customer like a guest in our home — with warmth and generosity.
"Our mission is to craft honest, soul-satisfying pizza using time-honored techniques, the finest ingredients, and the kind of care that only comes from truly loving what you do."
Every decision we make, every ingredient we choose, and every pizza we make reflects these guiding principles.
We never cut corners. Every dough is hand-stretched, every sauce is house-made, and every pizza is crafted with exacting attention to detail.
Madison Heights is our home. We support local suppliers, sponsor neighborhood events, and give back to the community that gave us everything.
We source responsibly, minimize waste, and choose eco-friendly packaging because we believe great food should also be good for the planet.
While we honor tradition, we love exploring bold new flavors and seasonal specials that surprise and delight our loyal customers.
From a single oven to a beloved Madison Heights institution — here are the moments that shaped Green Lantern Pizza.

After winning "Best Pizza" in the Oakland County local press three years running, we expanded our dining room and added a full delivery service to reach more hungry neighbors.
Tony's daughter Maria joins the team fresh from culinary school in Chicago, introducing new artisan techniques and an expanded menu of specialty pies that became instant classics.
We launch our annual "Slice for Schools" charity drive, donating over 2,000 pizzas to local school fundraisers. A tradition that continues to this day.
A major kitchen renovation brings a second wood-fired oven and a modern prep station, cutting wait times in half while preserving every bit of our handcrafted tradition.
We launch online ordering and a full catering menu to serve corporate clients, weddings, and events throughout the greater Detroit metro area — bringing Green Lantern Pizza to even more tables.
